POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Central School Board of Education approved sports mergers with Parishville-Hopkinton Central and Madrid-Waddington Central for upcoming sports seasons.
The board made the approvals at their April 11 meeting.
The merger with Parishville-Hopkinton includes golf, girls’ varsity hockey, girls’ lacrosse and volleyball.
PHCS has a number of students interested in trying out for the Potsdam Central teams this coming year.
Parishville-Hopkinton school officials told the board they are prepared to pay the $100 per participant fee for student athlete mergers.
Madrid-Waddington Central student-athletes will look to participate in all levels of football at Potsdam Central.
