POTSDAM -- Otto Czerepak, co-owner of The Tile Co., 6 Raymond St., is nearly done with the mural project he and helpers have been creating on the storefront.
With him in the photo is and Shauni Trombly, a recent graduate of Clarkson University who has made several trips from her home in West Chazy this past month to help complete the mural.
The mural on the front depicts a fire-breathing dragon and other mythical references. A colorful swirling pattern is on the side of the building.
"It's something we've always wanted to do," said Laura Passmore, Czerepak's business partner. "The stars aligned and young people who had graduated from the colleges wanted to tackle it."
"We wanted to do something artistic for the community, to inspire other artists to be creative," Czerepak said.
The Tile Co. also houses the Creative Spirit Community Arts Center, which hosts showcases of local artists.
The Tile Co. was named a 2012 Pride in Potsdam business for dressing up the exterior of the store.
