POTSDAM -- Randy LaValley, of Lavalle Transportation, Inc. (LTI) in Potsdam, is donating 38 brand new bicycles of various sizes to the Potsdam Holiday Fund.
The bikes will be distributed to families who receive gifts through the Holiday Fund's "Santa's Workshop" program, which starts Friday, Dec. 16, at the Potsdam United Methodist Church on Main Street.
LaValley said it makes him proud that his employees, instead of their traditional gift exchange, have collected money and are purchasing presents for three needy area families.
The Potsdam Holiday Fund also provides warm clothing and food to approximately 300 families, including 450 children, as well as 100 senior citizens in Potsdam and the surrounding communities.
Monetary donations are still needed and appreciated and can be sent to the Potsdam Holiday Fund, PO Box 827, Potsdam, NY 13676.
