POTSDAM -- Six-year-old Ilahn Maroun, son of Fallon and Matthew Maroun of Potsdam, recently donated to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital’s Birthplace.

For his 6th birthday, Maroun asked his friends and family to donate baby essentials instead of bringing him birthday presents.

Last year he donated items that to comfort Center for Cancer Care patients.

A news release from Canton-Potsdam Hospital says when Maroun was asked why he donates, he answered “because I want to help others.”

“We’re very grateful for Ilahn’s thoughtful donation and I have no doubt our babies and new moms and dads will appreciate them as well,” Birthplace nurse manager Kimberly Ferree says in the release. “It’s heartwarming to see children putting others first and finding gratification from their kind actions. He’s a very caring and compassionate young man with a heart of gold”.

Maroun says he’s planning to visit the Birthplace again this fall to meet his new baby brother, according to CPH.
