Potsdam appoints temporary town code chair, deputy clerk

POTSDAM – The Town Council has made temporary appointments of a chair for the group revising the town code, and for someone to help the town clerk while her assistant takes some leave.

Zoning Board of Appeals member and former Planning and Development Office aide Cindy Vivlamore will lead the effort at updating the town code.

Vivlamore’s stipend will be $20 per hour. She will be working mainly with Town Code Enforcement Officer Mike Boysuk.

Elaine Charleson, an account clerk for the town, was appointed special deputy clerk while the regular deputy takes some medical leave beginning next month. It is not a permanent change in job or pay for Charleson, but in order for her to act as a deputy town clerk, an official appointment is required.
