POTSDAM -- The Potsdam Animal Shelter has another long-term resident that the Potsdam Humane Society believes deserves a permanent place with a new family.
Abby is a young 60-pound Labrador mix with plenty of energy. She needs an experienced dog person with time and patience. She loves other dogs, but needs to be placed in a home with no small children.
Born in November 2011, Abby became a resident of the animal shelter in May 2012 and was adopted that July. Her new home did not work out, and she found herself back in the shelter on Oct. 24, where she has patiently been waiting for the right person to discover her – for more than 480 days.
The recent placement of another long-term resident, Baron von Willie, leads staff to believe that it will not be much longer before Abby has a new home.
People are invited to call or visit the Potsdam Humane Society (265-3199) if you think that Abby, or another animal at the shelter, might be for you.
