Potsdam Animal Shelter long-timer overdue for new home

POTSDAM -- Bubba Chubba, Potsdam Humane Society’s longest resident, is looking to be in his own home for the holidays.

Meanwhile, the Potsdam Animal Shelter, 17 Madrid Ave., is running a holiday half-price special on animal adoptions.

Loving and loyal to humans, Bubba Chubba, a pit bull mix, would be best in a home with no other pets. He has been sponsored, and is free to an approved adopter.

“We need to get this guy out of the shelter. He came in as a stray, tied up with no food or water, on March 11, 2013. He is doing well, but it is no life for a dog in a shelter,” said Bonnie Boyd of the Potsdam Humane Society.

PHS is running a half price special on all adult animals so that they can be in a home for Christmas. Pets are free to U.S. military service members and veterans. Some animals have had their adoption fees sponsored by people who love them, but who cannot take them home themselves. Senior animals are free to senior citizens.

All animals are spayed or neutered, micro-chipped, up to date on shots, flea treated and de-wormed.

Potsdam Humane Society is open 1 to 5 p.m. each weekday, and noon to 4 on Saturday. Closed Sundays.

All animals ready for adoption can be viewed at their website, potsdamhumanesociety.org, or call for information at 265-3199. Email potsdamhumanesociety@verizon.net.
