POTSDAM – The Potsdam and Norfolk Lions clubs held their summer picnic and a dedication ceremony for the Potsdam Lions Memorial Monument on Aug. 7 at Fall Island Park.
The monument honors past community members who served as longtime Lions members until the end of their lives, helping to improve the town in positive ways, and helping people since 1936, said club press release.
The Monument was created, engraved and installed by Witherbee & Whalen, located in Canton.
The village of Potsdam created the cement foundation and path.
The village and the club partner to maintain Fall Island Park, and have accomplished recent improvements there for community enjoyment, the press release said.
