St. Lawrence County is under a hazardous weather outlook as the National Weather Service predicts snowshowers sometime in the next 24 hours.
Meteorologists predict as high as 90 percent odds of rain in Canton and Star Lake, with those chances dipping slightly as the night goes on. Temperatures are forecast just above freezing in most areas, and just below freezing in higher elevations.
They say Thursday brings up to an 80 percent chance of snow Thursday in some areas, with temperatures in the mid- to high-30s. That is supposed to drop into the high 20s at night.
Friday is predicted to be mostly cloudy in most areas, with Canton, Ogdensburg and Star Lake facing 30 percent odds of rain or snow. Temperatures are supposed to be around 40 during the day and dropping to the low 30s or high 20s at night with mostly cloudy skies in all areas.

Wednesday night - Rain before 1 a.m., then a chance of rain and snow showers between 1am and 3am, then a chance of snow showers after 3 a.m. Low around 30. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Thursday - Snow showers before noon, then rain and snow showers likely between noon and 4 p.m., then snow showers after 4 p.m. High near 34. West wind 9 to 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
Thursday night - Snow showers likely, mainly before 10 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Friday - A chance of snow showers after 7 a.m., mixing with rain after noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 36. West wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
