POTSDAM – Voters have until 8 p.m. tonight, June 10, to vote for an increase in financial support of the Potsdam Public Library from $505,000 to $519,000.
Voters can cast their vote in the library basement, 2 Park St.
The current library tax rate is 95¢ per thousand of assessed value in the Town of Potsdam. The proposed rate is 98¢ per thousand.
For a home assessed at $100,000, the increase would be $3.
If approved, this would be the second consecutive year the library would receive increased funding. Last year the library asked for funding to increase from $465,000 to $505,000.
The second purpose of the referendum is to elect three trustees to the library board.
