Police searching for two people missing from Tupper Lake, stolen white Jeep

State police are now searching for two more people missing from the Tupper Lake area, and a Jeep stolen from the scene of burglary in Tupper Lake.

On top of the case of a Tupper Lake teen missing for more than 10 days that has sent searchers over a broad area including parts of St. Lawrence County, troopers are now reporting that Carl R. Burns, Jr., 41, and Angela I. Roberts, 23, both of Park Street, Tupper Lake, have both been reported missing.

Burns and Roberts have not been seen since early Wednesday, March 21.

New York State Police said are looking for help from the public to help locate them, if for no other reason than to verify their safety.

Burns is described as 6’ 3”, 225 lbs., red hair, brown eyes. In the photo provided to the media by the state police, Burns has a mustache, a long goatee beard, and an earring.

Roberts is described as 5’ 2”, 130 lbs., brown hair, and brown eyes.

Investigators said they don’t know what they were wearing at the time.

Troopers are not suggesting there is any connection between this case and that of Colin Gillis, 18, who has been missing since he was last seen around 2 a.m. Sunday, March 11, walking between Piercefield and Tupper Lake. An extensive search for him has covered an area including southwestern St. Lawrence County.

But they do say in their request for leads that they are also searching for a white Jeep that was reported as stolen from the scene of a burglary on Lindsey Avenue in Tupper Lake, and for a handgun stolen in the burglary, suggesting a link between the missing man and woman and the burglary. The vehicle is a white 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, New York plate BLU1497.

Anyone who might have seen Burns, Roberts or the Jeep are asked to immediately call the New York State Police in Ray Brook at (518) 897-2000.
