The Dunkin’ Donuts shops in Potsdam and Massena will host police officers soliciting donations for Special Olympics from a lofty perch – the roof of the shop.
From 6 to 11 a.m. Friday, July 17, Law Enforcement Torch Run Officers will be on the roofs of the Dunkin’ Donuts at 132 Market St., Potsdam and 317 S. Main Street, Massena will be collecting donations from customers to benefit Special Olympics New York.
Members of New York State Police Troop B, DHS Investigators, Canton Police Department, Potsdam Police Department and Massena Police Department will participate.
Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee Ray Aley said the number of participating Dunkin’ Donuts locations and law enforcement agencies has more are more than doubled for this second annual “Cops on Top” event.
Anyone who donates at these “Cops on Top” events on Friday will receive a coupon for a free medium hot coffee. Anyone who donates $20 or more will receive an exclusive “Cops on Top” t-shirt.
The mission of Special Olympics New York is to champion year-round sports, health and fitness programs for athletes of all abilities.
