MASSENA -- Village police have made an arrest in a Sunday morning assault that sent a man to Massena Memorial with facial fractures.
Michael D. Lambert, 21, of Buckeye Camp Road, Gordon, W.V. is charged with second-degree assault, a felony, police said.
He is accused of striking a male victim at the Open Net, Romeo Avenue, causing a broken orbital and fractured sinus canal, police said. This allegedly happened around 2:33 a.m. Sunday.
Chief Adam Love said police responded after a 911 call reporting a “large fight” at the bar.
He was arraigned in Massena court by Justice Eric Gustafson and remanded to the St. Lawrence County jail, Canton, in lieu of $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, police said.
Lambert was initially cited with disorderly conduct. Love said the victim initially declined to press charges, so officers at the scene charged Lambert with disorderly conduct for his alleged involvement in the fight and released him with an appearance ticket. The victim later changed his mind and pressed the felony charge, Love said.
