POTSDAM -- Village police are investigating a collision between two snowplows that took place around 10 p.m. Wednesday night on Castle Drive, according to Village Administrator David Fenton.
“We’re still investigating exactly what the situation was,” Fenton said. “Police are doing a traffic investigation.”
He said they are still waiting to get a damage total from insurance adjusters.
Fenton said Brian Barrett was driving a plow down Castle Drive that night toward Leroy Street when a second plow came down the road with Dustin Bradley behind the wheel.
He said Barrett pulled off to the side of the road to let Bradley pass, but Bradley ran into him.
He said Barrett’s wing plow snapped off and scraped the side of the other truck.
Fenton said Barrett’s truck was repaired and is back on the road. It sustained damage to the headlights and fender, in addition to the broken plow.
Bradley’s truck is inoperable. The fuel tank and some air tanks were damaged, Fenton said.
Fenton said the plow is new, but they hadn’t yet gotten rid of the one it replaced, so that’s temporarily back on the road.
“We’re not a truck down,” Fenton said.
