MASSENA -- Village police are trying to find out who committed a stabbing and shooting in Massena last night.
Both victims lived at 10 Cook St. and Massena police Chief Adam Love says they were attacked by other people.
One victim, who was stabbed, was treated at Massena Memorial Hospital and released. The shooting victim was flown via Lifeflight from Massena Memorial Hospital to University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington, Vt. where he is in serious but stable condition, Love said.
"That's the last I heard several hours ago. They keep us updated," Love said.
He said they have not yet identified suspects.
"I requested the assistance of the New York State Police Forensic Investigation Unit from Troop B headquarters to assist us with the processing of the crime scene. They are currently processing the scene," Love wrote in a prepared statement that he released on Friday morning. "Throughout the day our department will be identifying, interviewing and deposing various people that can help us in determining the circumstances that led up to this incident."
