POTSDAM — A Potsdam man was charged with littering after ripping up a ticket he had just received for an open container violation on Wednesday evening, according to Potsdam police.
Kenneth J. French, 52, was cited at 6:40 p.m. for open container and littering, officers said.
Police said they were responding to a complaint they received about a few disorderly subjects behind a business on Maple Street.
French was observed with an open container of alcohol in his hand and after being cited for that he ripped the ticket up and threw it on the ground, police said.
He is to appear in Potsdam court Sept. 19 at 10 a.m. to face the charges, officers said.
