Plein Air Festival underway in Morristown

MORRISTOWN -- Friday was the first full day of Morristowns third Annual Plein Air Artist Festival. Over 30 artists from around New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Maryland visited the North Country to paint the landscape in the open air.

Today offers an opportunity for the public to come and watch the artists and offers chances to win a door prize to be awarded Sunday.

Stop at the Morristown Public Library and pick up a map to find the artist and where they are painting.In and around Morristown,includingBlack Lake, Chippewa Bay and Hammond.

Other activities associated with Plein Air include live music at Bella Brooke Friday with a meet and greet the artist starting at 6 p.m. Saturday at 7 p.m. live music with the Jazz trio "A Fine Line" at the Bayside park in Morristown.

The Plein Air Festival concludes on Sunday with a silent auction from noon to 3 p.n. at Chippewa Bay Community Club in Chippawa Bay.

Prizes will be awarded for artists and over 40 door prizes will be awarded at Sundays Ceremony to people who visited the artists on site and picked up an entry ticket.The Artist work will then be sold at the auction.

Live music by Yellow Moon and Elegant refreshments available. All of the Plein Air events are free admission.
