OGDENSBURG -- There is still time for the public to take the Oswegatchie Blueway Trail survey.
Planners want the public’s help in shaping offerings along the proposed trail. To collect this data a survey is being done to determine future activities and amenities for the Oswegatchie River Blueway Trail.
Planners of the Blueway trail want to know what activities the region’s residents and visitors enjoy on the river and within the corridor, and what kinds of new activities they would like to enjoy in the future.
Water- and land-based recreational and leisure activities are included on the Blueway trail, which runs on the river’s three branches from its source in the Adirondack wilderness to the St. Lawrence River in the City of Ogdensburg.
The survey is available through this link: http://fluidsurveys.com/s/oswegatchie-blueway-trail-survey/
The purpose of the study is to identify strategies for economic development and sustainable tourism through recreational access to the Oswegatchie River and the many other year-round recreation resources along the river corridor.
A marketing strategy, signage and way finding program will be among the study’s strategies to increase access to the river and connect visitor amenities, such as lodging, dining and shopping to the river corridor.
