PIERREPONT -- A landlord is charged with a felony after allegedly stealing firearms from one of his rental properties.
Richard P. Hayes, 68, of Howardville Road, Canton, is charged with one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff's deputies said.
He allegedly stole multiple firearms from inside the residence on May 21, deputies said, and then tried to get rid of them by discarding them over a bridge.
He was charged Thursday and released with an appearance ticket for Pierrepont Town Court, deputies said.
