PARISHVILLE -- Two vacant seats in the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School district were filled last night at the school board budget and Board of Education vote.
Christina Snell totaled 185 votes and Ward Remington received 176 and will each now serve five-year terms on the school board.
The seats were vacated by Jim Young and Dan Taylor, PHCS Superintendent William Collins said.
The Parishville-Hopkinton Central School budget for 2018-19 passed with a 78.3 percent approval. The vote was 177 to 49. The budget for next year is $11,304,405.
Although no new positions will be added, no positions will be cut.
The school bus purchase proposition passed 193-33.
The district will look to purchase a full-sized bus and a small bus, as part of a bus replacement plan. The budget will also replace a 30-year-old tractor used for snow removal and other purposes.
