OGDENSBURG -- Two Ogdensburg men face charges after a one-pot methamphetamine lab and weapons were discovered early Tuesday morning at 829 Pickering St., according to the Ogdensburg Police Department.

During the morning hours of May 26, the Ogdensburg Police Department accompanied New York State Parole to 829 Pickering St. for a residential check on parolee Rusty T. Simmons.

During the check and subsequent search several components and ingredients, including an active one-pot used in the one-pot methamphetamine lab manufacturing process were discovered in the home. Following the discovery of the meth lab, all occupants were immediately evacuated from the residence due to the volatile and explosive propensity of the one-pot.

The Sheriff’s Office Drug Task Force and State Police Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team (CCSERT) were reportedly notified and responded to the scene.

Rusty T. Simmons, 27, 829 Pickering St., was reportedly charged with third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine, felony and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. He was allegedly in possession of 31 individual packages of Suboxone film, an opioid narcotic used in the treatment of opioid addiction and treatment of moderate pain.

He was arraigned in Ogdensburg City Court by Judge William Small and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $15,000 bail or $30,000 bond, police said.

A search of the residence also led to the discovery two billy clubs. The weapons were allegedly found in the possession John E. Pratt, 50, 1423 Ford St., Apartment 3, Ogdensburg.

Pratt was reportedly charged with two counts fourth-degree of criminal possession of a weapon. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Ogdensburg City Court at a later date.

The Ogdensburg City Fire Department and Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad were also on scene. Further charges and arrests are possible, officers said.
