HOPKINTON -- A Parishville man was jailed for allegedly threatening his wife with a knife in front of their children during a domestic incident Wednesday night, according to state police.

Matthew D. Bray, 42, was charged with first-offense DWI, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was also charged with criminal mischief and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, troopers said.

Troopers said Bray punched a door in the home causing damage to it and then threatened his wife with a kitchen knife in the presence of two children.

Bray was charged on Sheldon Road at 10:55 p.m.

He was remanded to St. Lawrence County Jail on $5,000 bail or $10,000 bond, police said.

Bray is to appear in Hopkinton court April 6 at 7 p.m.
