PARISHVILLE -- The Parishville-Hopkinton Central School Board of Education will hold a special meeting Monday, Dec. 3, at 6 p.m. in the high school library to appoint new principals in the high school and elementary.

Under new business on the agenda it lists appointing an interim principal, request for a leave of absence and appointing a temporary athletic director.

Superintendent William “Bill” Collins said that its elementary principal Brooke Reid is expected to be appointed as its interim high school principal. The school board is also expected to approve Reid’s leave of absence from her elementary principal position.

Virginia Doll, who was the high school principal, is no longer working in the district, according to a statement release to teachers and staff.

Nicole Weakfall will likely be named the interim elementary principal, Collins said. She would be replacing Reid.

Weakfall currently teaches at Colton-Pierrepont Central. She will take over her new role at PHCS Wednesday, Dec. 5.

“A search for a permanent administrator will commence this week,” Collins said. ““The district administration and staff will work to ensure minimal disruptions for students throughout this process.”

“We cannot comment further on specifics related to Ms. Doll's departure as it is a personnel matter,” Collins said.

Doll did not respond when NCTW contacted her for comment.

In a letter emailed to staff Monday, Nov. 26, Superintendent William “Bill” Collins” said:

“I write to inform you that the District and Ms. Doll are parting ways.

“A mid-year personnel change of this magnitude is bound to upset our school climate and be fodder for speculation and rumor. I cannot speak to the specifics of this or any other personnel issues; however, I can assure you that my decisions are not made arbitrarily nor are my actions taken lightly.

“After weighing the options, I strive to do what I believe is the best interest of our school regardless of the difficulty. I own this outcome; do not place responsibility on the Board members or anyone else.

“I know that you also work to do what is best, so please dispel student rumors that would harm Ms. Doll’s reputation. When students ask, you can let them know that Ms. Doll has left PHCS and that you do not have specifics to share.

“For the immediate future, Ms. Reid will handle discipline referrals for both offices and Danielle will handle h.s./m.s. substitute coverage. There is a search on for an interim secondary administrator to step in, which will be followed by a search for a permanent replacement.

“Please contact me directly with any question.

“Regards,

“Bill”

Multiple phone calls PHCS Board of Education President Timothy Zellweger were not immediately returned.
