PARISHVILLE – The 4th and 5th grade students of Parishville-Hopkinton Central School, together with the Parishville-Hopkinton Teachers Association, raised over $1,500 in contributions to “St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital”, located in Memphis, Tenn.
Just one week following the NYS Assessments, the students were ready for a new challenge, this one closer to the heart.
After watching an informative and heartwarming video about the Children’s Hospital, the students were ready to do the math!
Each student that participated was required to complete a math workbook, find sponsors, and bring in the donations.
The money raised was enough to pay for one day of chemotherapy and one day of oxygen.
St. Jude Children’s Hospital makes it possible to treat patients regardless of a family’s ability to pay.
It is the only pediatric cancer research center where families never pay for treatments that are not covered by insurance. No child is denied treatment because of a family’s inability to pay.
