PARISHVILLE -- Parishville Area ATV Club was busy with events into the fall and is planning its annual Christmas dinner.

On the first weekend of September, the club was invited to the River Camp Hunting Club, on the Littlejohn Road in South Colton, for a cookout and ride through the property. David Irish was host and ride leader. It was a wonderful day of great weather. There were eight riders and six ATVs. Club members said they were grateful to River Camp for the use of camp for the event.

On Sept. 24, they had a ride to Star Lake and through area towns. Art Wilson was ride leader. There were 23 riders and 17 ATVs. They traveled 80 miles and had a brown bag picnic lunch on the roadside. Scenery was beautiful on this ride, as the leaves were just turning color.

Oct. 8 was the annual End of the Year Family Picnic at the Fort Jackson Park. There were 28 members and their families present, and nine ATVs. Everyone brought a dish to contribute to a wonderful buffet. People ranged in age from 2 to more than 70. The weather was wonderful day and the scenery at the park was great. Club members said the park is such a treasure that they always have a great time there. They thank Mike Opal for helping with the arrangements to use the park. After the picnic, there was a ride to the Gold Mine Trail, traveling about 58 miles. Ed Francis was leader.

The final event of the year is the Annual Christmas Dinner at Goose Landing Dec. 17.
