POTSDAM -- The Amvets Parishville Ladies Auxiliary 265 held a June fundraiser to assist the Potsdam Kiwanis Club and Potsdam Public Library with purchasing children's books for the Head Start Reading Program for students at Parishville School.
The readings starts in September and concludes in early June of the school year.
Every child is given a different book to take home and read to their family members, showing their progress in identifying pictures relating to the words composed in the stories.
The raffle was held Saturday, June 30 at the AMVETS in Parishville. The winning ticket won by Dale Harper, Jr. 49 entitled a round of golf for four players at the Town and Country Golf Course, a $75 gift card for the gift shop, plus a cooler with golf balls, tees and golf towels.
Auxiliary member Mary Gilbert presented the Potsdam Kiwanis Club an envelope containing $391 to support the Head Start Reading Program at Parishville school.
