PARISHVILLE -- The Amvets Post 265 Ladies Auxiliary conducted a fundraiser raffle to benefit the Head Start Reading Program serviced by the Kiwanis Club of Potsdam in partnership with the Potsdam Library System.
Kiwanis Club members read monthly to children in the Parishville-Hopkinton Central Head Start Reading Program.
The raffle drawing took place at the post on June 30. Dale Harper, Jr. of Parishville was the lucky holder of the winning ticket, which included a day of golf for four players at the Town and Country Golf Course on SH 56 in Potsdam, plus a $75 gift card for the golf course gift shop, a cooler filled with golf balls, tees and golf towels.
Proceeds from the raffle were given to the Kiwanis Club, earmarked to help fund children’s books for the Parishville Head Start Reading Program. A total of $391 was raised to help purchase the children’s books.
