RENSSELAER FALLS -- Veteran paddle racers and casual paddlers competed in various classes at ‘The Remington II’ recently.

“I think everyone had a good race and a fun race as water levels were up from last year and a little rain helped keep people cool” said race director Allen Kelly about the paddle race from Rensselaer Falls to Heuvelton.

The annual season for the sponsoring organization, St. Lawrence Valley Paddlers, will conclude with the End of Year banquet and Tri-a-Tri Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Madrid Community Center at 1 p.m. The Tri a Tri is a one-mile run, then a one mile canoe-kayak paddle and a one mile mountain bike ride to finish.
