From in front of Canton's American Theater, Jaime Szot recorded work underway for nighttime paving along Main Street.
CANTON – Overnight paving has begun along Main Street in Canton.
The work is part of the $10 million project rebuilding about a mile of Main Street downtown.
Intended to get some potentially disruptive work done during the nighttime lull in traffic, the work was put off for a couple of days while preparation was completed.
The state Department of Transportation says this phase of the paving should be done by Oct. 19.
The entire project, which includes new drainage, curb and sidewalk work in addition to rebuilding the road, is due to be finished about a year from now.
