OSWEGATCHIE – A house in Oswegatchie was declared a total loss after a fire there Friday afternoon.
The blaze, of as yet undetermined origin, began in the kitchen, according to the St. Lawrence County Fire Investigation team.
The house at 1206 Moreland was owned by Gray J. Brabant and occupied by Stacy Snyder.
Heuvelton firefighters were called out at 1:10 p.m., followed by Ogdensburg Rescue and volunteers from the Lisbon, Morristown and Ogdensburg fire departments.
On standby were firefighters from Waddington, Rensselaer Falls and Gouverneur.
The Red Cross was called to aid the tenant.
No injuries were reported.
There is no word about insurance coverage.
