WADDINGTON -- Department of Environmental Conservation and New York Power Authority employees relocated an osprey nest at Whittaker Park in Waddington recently.
The pole the nest was on, had to be replaced so they moved the nest with the baby ospreys in it to a new pole with a nest box on the riverbank, according to Mickey Miller.
“You can see the mother osprey keeping a close eye on the entire procedure. The move seems to have been successful and the osprey family is enjoying their new home," Miller said.
