OGDENSBURG -- The St. Lawrence District of the Order of the Eastern Star today provided a picnic lunch for about 20 veterans residing in Untied Helper's River ledge and Maple Ridge nursing homes.
They event was on Aug. 21 at the Dobisky Center overlooking the St Lawrence River.
The St. Lawrence District initiated a fundraising campaign to do something special for veterans who reside in many nursing homes all over St. Lawrence County.
The St. Lawrence District Grand Lecturer Mark Ginn initiated the veterans program and helped organize and raise the funds to complete the wish list from the veterans in each nursing home.
