The Orchestra of Northern New York, now celebrating its 27th year, has hired Kathy Del Guidice as executive director. She will overseee all management and operational activities for the orchestra, the group said.

Prior to the appointment, she was development associate for American Stage Theatre in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she was responsible for grant writing, fundraising and event planning, according to ONNY. Years ago, she was director of Music Theatre North in Potsdam.

"I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with the Orchestra of Northern New York," Del Guidice said in a prepared statement. "In my mind, they are one of the finest regional orchestras in the country."

Del Guidace has previously worked as St. Lawrence Foundation for Youth executive director, and Music Theatre North.

She has a bachelor of arts from SUNY Potsdam and master's degree from Clarkson University. She and her husband, Richard, reside in Colton.
