NY State of Health, the state’s official health plan Marketplace, will have open enrollment through Jan. 31.

New Yorkers who are new to the Marketplace can enroll.

Existing customers can renew their health plans starting Nov. 16.

Consumers must enroll or renew by Dec. 15 for coverage effective Jan. 1. Enrollment in the Essential Plan, Medicaid and Child Health Plus is open all year.

“Over 95 percent of Marketplace enrollees will see no cost increase in 2019,” according to a news release from NY State of Health.

Consumers can enroll in, or renew, a health plan by calling the Customer Service Center at 1-855-355-5777; logging onto the website at nystateofhealth.ny.gov ; or meeting with an in-person assistor. Find one at https://nystateofhealth.ny.gov/agent/hx_brokerSearch?fromPage=INDIVIDUAL&lang=en

Consumers who are eligible for a Qualified Health Plan with federal tax credits will see no or little increase in monthly costs in 2019.

Bronze level Qualified Health Plans will be free to individuals with incomes up to $25,000 and not eligible for Medicaid or the Essential Plan in every county of the state, and less than $50 a month for individuals with incomes up to $30,000 a year in 41 counties. Bronze level Qualified Health Plans have a higher annual deductible than other metal level plans, but provide free preventive care and protect against catastrophic costs, NY State of Health said.

More than 500,000 existing NY State of Health customers have already received or will receive their 2019 renewal notices in the coming days. These notices provide consumers with information about their eligibility for 2019 and health plan options and costs and tell consumers what actions, if any, they need to take to renew their coverage for 2019.

NY State of Health representatives will be available at many events across the state to educate New Yorkers about the Marketplace, and to enroll consumers in health plans. A list of locations is available on the events map.
