POTSDAM -- Clarkson University is offering an online Business of Energy graduate certificate program for those in the energy industry or those interested in learning about it.

Developed through a partnership with National Grid and taught by energy industry leaders with many years of experience in the field, the program provides a comprehensive view of energy industry-related issues and trends.

It is designed for working professionals and recent college graduates seeking to advance their careers in the energy industry and for those in related fields, including law and policy, who want to get up to speed on contemporary issues and business principles related to:

• the field of power generation, optimization and distribution

• the role of regulatory agencies and the implications of regulation and deregulation

• industry trends and changing power markets.

The program requires the successful completion of four of six available courses, for a total of 12 graduate-level credits.

Those signing up for the first 10-week class, “Fundamentals of the Business of Energy,” which starts June 13, can save nearly 20 percent on this course. Future courses will run continuously in the fall, winter, and spring.
