OSWEGATCHIE — One person suffered burns and a dog was saved from a fire at a 4693 State Highway 37 on Nov. 19, according to Morristown Fire Department Chief Kevin Crosby.
The fire was called in at 2:21 p.m. and firefighters were on scene nine minutes later, Crosby said.
The blaze was in a two-story home.
When firefighters arrived there was heavy smoke and fire showing from the second flood, he said.
Firefighters made their way up the stairs to the second floor where they were met with heavy smoke, hear and fire.
They quickly knocked the flames frown in the hallway and front bedroom of the residence, Crosby said.
Mutual aid was provided by Brier Hill and Heuvelton Fire Departments on scene with Gouveneur on standby in Morristown.
One person was transported to Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center to treatment to burns suffered from the fire.
The condition of the victim was not made available.
Firefighters also rescued a dog from the building, Crosby said.
National Grid, state police, Morristown Auxiliary and Brier Hill Auxiliary were also on scene.
The cause of the fire was not reported.
