POTSDAM -- One of Potsdam's oldest and biggest maple trees was safely cut down Wednesday.
The tree, 18 feet in circumference, stood at 5 Garden St., and might have been on the property when the house was built in 1865, according to Jeff Swanson, owner. That could make the tree more than 150 years old.
The tree removal work was done by Wolf's Tree Service.
