PARISHVILLE – One firefighter injured a knee and lower back early this morning as firefighters fought a blaze in a trailer, according to the St. Lawrence County Office of Emergency Services.
The Parishville fire department responded to the property at 1080 NYS Hwy. 72 owned by Brent Votra at 4:13 a.m.
Mutual aid was provided by the Potsdam, Hannawa Falls, Colton, West Potsdam and Pierrepont fire departments. The Parishville Rescue Squad also responded.
Fire damage was confined to a bathroom but the entire trailer, which was occupied by two people, suffered smoke damage, firefighters said. A faulty hot water heater is listed as the cause of the blaze.
The Parishville fire department returned to the fire station at 6:31 a.m.
