CANTON -- Despite the chilly temperature, the third annual Oktoberfest Costumed Prediction Run/Walk, held Sunday, Oct. 27, raised $7,000 for United Helpers residents.
“All monies raised will be used for activities and quality-of-life enhancements for the residents,” said Development Director Lori Smithers. “The money will be used for all of the little things that we take for granted that don’t fit into the constraints of the facility budgets, for example gazebos and canopies, so residents can get outdoors and avoid the elements such as sun and wind. The funds will also be used to take residents on outings like the Uncle Sam Boat Tours. “
Participants were encouraged to dress in their favorite costume and predict their time.
In the male division John Beaudette was first place winner of an iPod Shuffle. Stephanie Fay also won an iPod Shuffle as first place winner in the women’s division.
