OGDENSBURG – Despite the recent dangerously low temperatures, Ogdensburg plans to hold its annual Polar Bear Plunge as planned Saturday at 1 p.m.
Organizers says the plunge will go on as temperatures Saturday are expected to climb near 20 degrees.
The event will be held at the Ogdensburg Dobisky Center where brave men, children and women will jump into the St. Lawrence River.
Proceeds from the event benefits the Ogdensburg Rescue Squad, which will be on standby incase of emergencies. The person with the most sponsors will receive a $500 prize.
