Ogdensburg's GreenMarket offering variety of vendors on Saturday

OGDENSBURG -- This Saturday at the Ogdensburg GreenMarket Brian and Debby Hicks of Homestead Farms will have fresh local blackberries to sell. T

hey also have sugar snap peas, baby turnip, radishes and the season’s first zucchini as well as their brown or green eggs.

Joe Metz and Sean Fay of Outhouse Farms will have fresh greens, radishes, green onions, Romaine lettuce, collard and mustard greens and fresh eggs.

Cliff Cook of C. L. Cook Farms will have baby beets, beet greens, new carrots, broccoli raab, duck eggs on request and his popular sausage and pork. He now also carries hot dogs. Brian and Ann Bennett of Bittersweet Farms will bring garlic scapes, sugar snap peas, shell peas, kohlrabi, kale and fried herbs.

Heather Donahue of Donahue Family Farm will return with her grass fed beef sirloin, rib eye, t-bone, New York strips, beef jerky and pork products. All meat sold at the market is antibiotic and hormone free.

Linda Kingston of Kingston Roadside Stand will bring asparagus, lettuce, onions and whatever else is ready for harvest on Saturday morning.

Teresa Cameron offers aromatherapy lotions and candles, and chair massages. Jane Wright will be at market with her soy candles, all natural soaps and her line of home baked healthy dog treats.

Bea Murdock offers knowledge of perennials and selections of plants and seeds from her extensive gardens, and handcrafted doilies.

Betty Poor’s booth will have cookies and homemade pie, along with her line of beaded crafts and gravestone silk flower saddles. Tim and Lisa Gardner of St. Lawrence Roasters grind the coffee beans while you wait. Lisa also brings muffins, cookies and sweet rolls and whoopee pies.

Ogdensburg GreenMarket has a new program being offered by the Farmers Market Federation of NY promoting EBT usage at markets, and they have created an e-newsletter titled “Fresh Tips” issued monthly.
