OGDENSBURG -- The Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary recently donated $125,000, completing a 2016 pledge to donate $250,000 to the hospital.

Upon completing last year’s, the auxiliary made a new commitment to give another $250,000 by 2019.

“Donations like this strengthen our facilities and ultimately benefit all who come to CHMC for expert care close to home. We are truly grateful to the Auxiliary for their continued investment in CHMC,” reads a news release from the Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Foundation.

In addition to the new pledge, the Auxiliary presented Steve Hawes, CHMC food service manager, with $40,000 to kickstart fundraising for a new renovation project that will expand options, including a new salad bar, and improve flow during peak hours in the hospital’s Cornerstone Café.

The auxiliary is the hospital’s largest living donor, giving over $1.9 million to CHMC since 1953.

The auxiliary has 126 members. Of that, 78 are active members, 32 are associate members and 16 are honorary members.
