POTSDAM -- St. Lawrence County Sheriff deputies say a report of a suspicious vehicle led to a woman being jailed for allegedly driving a stolen car while drunk.
Brandy J. Breithaupt, 39, of Ford Street, Ogdensburg is charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property and misdemeanor driving while intoxicated. She was also cited for traffic infractions including unlicensed operator, consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, operating a vehicle with suspended registration and unsafe tires, deputies said.
Deputies say around 11:23 p.m. Friday, they responded to a suspicious vehicle call on U.S. Highway 11 in Potsdam. They allegedly found Breithaupt in a vehicle that had been taken from Ogdensburg, according to investigators.
She was arraigned in Potsdam Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, Canton, in lieu of $1,000 bail or $2,000 bond.
