Ogdensburg woman faces charges for November fire police say was intentionally set

OGDENSBURG – An Ogdensburg woman was charged with reckless endangerment following a November fire investigators believe was intentionally ignited.

Lynda A. Kilbourn, 54, of 1200 New York Avenue, was charged with reckless endangerment following a investigation.

Ogdensburg police and fire department responded to structure fire at 632 Linden St. The residence was owned and occupied by Lynda A. Kilbourn. A joint investigation was conducted by both departments’ fire investigators.

“The fire has been determined to be incendiary, in that it was intentionally ignited, and created a substantial risk of serious physical injury to nearby neighbors, and responding personnel,” a release from city police said.

As Ogdensburg Fire Department attempted to extinguish and control the fire, one firefighter was injured. He received treatment at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center, and was released a short time later.

Kilbourn was arrested following the investigation for her connection to the reported structure fire. She was released on an appearance ticket returnable in Ogdensburg City Court on Feb.19.
