LISBON – An Ogdensburg woman was jailed on burglary and assault charges early Saturday morning after allegedly smashing an apartment door and assaulting the occupants, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies charged Sierra R. Herbick, 22, 819 New York Ave., Ogdensburg, with burglary second degree, assault third degree, criminal mischief fourth degree, and criminal contempt second degree.

Deputies responded about 2:30 a.m. after Brian McDonald, 1060 County Route 28, reported that Herbick and Eric R. Miller, 20, of 706 Bigelow St., Ogdensburg, had smashed the door to his apartment in and assaulted him and a guest, Susan Bogart.

The door and casing were damaged, deputies said.

The criminal contempt charge against Herbick is for her alleged violation of an Order of Protection issued by Ogdensburg City Court on March 3, ordering her not to assault or harass McDonald, deputies said.

The injuries suffered by McDonald and Bogart are considered minor, deputies said. Herbick was taken before Canton Town Justice Thomas Wheeler and sent to St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility in lieu of $2,500 cash or $5,000 bail bond, deputies said.

Deputies said they are still searching for Miller. Those with information about Miller’s location are asked to call the sheriff's office at 379-2222.
