OSWEGATCHIE – An Ogdensburg woman was arrested for allegedly striking a dog twice with a hockey stick causing it to die, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Melissa J. Cobb, 45, was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals, felony and endangering the welfare of a child, officers said.
She reportedly killed the dog June 11 in the presence of a 10-year-old child.
Cobb was arraigned in Oswergatchie Town Court and released under the supervision of probation, deputies said.
