OSWEGATCHIE -- An Ogdensburg man was charged with driving while intoxicated following an accident that left one driver seriously injured.
Lloyed V. Lennox, 25, of Tallman Road, was charged with driving while intoxicated and following too closely following an accident early Saturday morning.
The charges came after St. Lawrence County deputies responded to a two-car personal injury accident at the intersection of County Route 6 and the Simms Camp Road, in the Town of Oswegatchie.
Deputies say a vehicle driven by Mary Jo Montana, 48, of 815 Lake Street, Ogdensburg, was southbound on County Route 6, making a left turn onto the Simms Camp Road when Lennox struck her vehicle from behind causing her vehicle to spin around and go off the left side of the road. The Lennox vehicle went off the right side of the road. Darin A. King, 51, of 40 Simms Camp Road, Ogdensburg,was a passenger in the Montana vehicle.
Montana was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center for head and neck injuries.
King and Lennox both complained of neck injuries and were transported to Claxton Hepburn Hospital.
Responding to the scene was New York State Police, Ogdensburg Fire and Rescue, Heuvelton Fire and First Responders, and Morristown Rescue.
The incident remains under investigation.
