OSWEGATCHIE -- An Ogdensburg woman was charged Thursday afternoon with stealing a Samsung tablet that belonged to a vendor who was at Family Dollar, 701 Canton St., according to state police.

Troopers said they responded to a reported larceny at the store shortly after 1 p.m.

An unknown suspect had entered the store and stole the tablet belonging to a vendor employee who was in the store conducting an inventory of their product, officers said.

After reviewing store surveillance footage, the suspect was identified as 56-year-old Debra A. Dennis.

She was located at her residence and was in possession of the stolen property, officers said.

She was charged with petit larceny and released on an appearance ticket returnable Aug. 10 to Oswegatchie court.
