OGDENSBURG -- Walmart says it is hiring about 60 people to help as its store at 3000 Ford Street Extension undergoes an extensive renovation.

The company says the update is based on feedback from customers, and will feature wider aisles, low-profile shelving, bright interior paint scheme and lighting, and easy-to-read signs.

The company says the store will receive a full remodel from the inside out and will represent the latest in Walmart's “store design and customer experience.”

Every department of the store will be updated including flooring and a new layout.

The store will remain open during the renovations. Maps will be at the entrance and there will be direction signs throughout the store. The majority of construction and moving will be completed during the overnight hours.

The Ogdensburg Walmart is hiring about 60 additional people to help with the remodel.

The renovations are expected to be done in July.
