Ogdensburg teen faces 36 counts following alleged burglaries, thefts in Lisbon, Oswegatchie

OGDENSBURG -- An Ogdensburg teen was arrested Sunday morning on 36 charges stemming from a stolen ATV and for allegedly breaking into and stealing from several storage lockers in the Ogdensburg area, according to state police.

Hunter E. Sharlow, 17 was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny for his role in the theft of a 2003 Bombardier ATV valued at $1,500, trooper said. The ATV was reportedly stolen from a residence on County Route 4 in Oswegatchie in October.

Additionally charged in the ATV theft were William C. Harper, 17, Ogdensburg and two 15-year-old males whose names were withheld due to their age.

All three were charged with fourth-degree grand larceny and released on appearance tickets.

Sharlow was charged at 9:10 a.m. at 93 County Route 4 with two felony counts of third-degree burglary, eight misdemeanor counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property and 20 misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree criminal mischief.

He was also charged four counts of endangering the welfare of a child and possession of burglar tools, misdemeanors, officers said.

Troopers said that he cut the locks of several storage units in the Ogdensburg and Lisbon areas on several occasions earlier this month and stole a variety of items.

The alleged stolen property included a laptop, a deer mount, a punching bag, a DeWalt drill, DVDs, CDs, a tool box, bolt cutters, remote control cars and other miscellaneous items, police said.

Sharlow was reportedly arraigned in Morristown Town Court and remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility on $2,500 bail.

He was bailed out the same day, troopers said.
